Cribbage Score Tracker: track cribbage scores for free
Cribbage is a classic British card game that has been played for centuries. It combines strategic card play with a unique scoring system in which players earn points for fifteens, pairs, runs and flushes — both during the pegging phase and when counting the hand. Normally two players compete to reach 121 points (the 'peg'), but cribbage also plays well with three or four players. Because points per hand can vary dramatically, a digital score tracker is a handy complement to the traditional cribbage board.
How scoring works in Cribbage
Cribbage has two scoring phases per hand: the pegging phase (playing cards alternately) and the hand count (tallying points once cards are picked up). Below are the key scoring rules.
- •Fifteens: any combination of cards totalling 15 = 2 points
- •Pair: two cards of the same rank = 2 points (three of a kind = 6, four of a kind = 12)
- •Run: three or more consecutive cards = 1 point per card in the sequence
- •Flush: four or more cards of the same suit in hand = 4 or 5 points
- •Nobs (Jack): a Jack in hand or crib matching the starter card's suit = 1 point
- •Go: your opponent cannot play a card during pegging = 1 point
- •Reaching exactly 31 during pegging = 2 points
- •Last card played (Go) = 1 point
- •Target: 121 points (short game variant: 61 points)
Example: your hand is King, 5, 4, Ace and the starter card is a 6. You count: King + 5 = 15 (2 points), King + Ace + 4 = 15 (2 points), 5-4-6-Ace is a run of four (4 points). Total: 8 points for that hand. Record those 8 points in the tracker next to the running total.

How many points do you play to in cribbage?
Standard cribbage is played to 121 points. The shorter variant ends at 61 points.
What is pegging in cribbage?
Pegging is the phase where players alternately play cards and score points for fifteens, pairs, runs and reaching 31. The term 'pegging' comes from moving the peg on the cribbage board.
Can I use ScoreApp as a replacement for a cribbage board?
Yes. ScoreApp's generic score tracker maintains the cumulative total per player, just like a cribbage board — but digitally, without physical pegs or board.
